1. Committing to consistency
Starting a new business requires a time commitment beyond the comprehension of those who have never tried to launch one. New business owners must be “all in” and willing to devote more than 40 hours per week to succeed. Unprepared or unwilling to commit the time needed is usually better off holding onto a 9-to-5 job. As John Heywood said: “Rome wasn’t built in a day.” Consistency in your business is far more critical than you can imagine. Consistent allows you to establish awareness, build trust, and deliver your services efficiently and profitably. Without it, your business is more likely to fail.
2. Faith in the eventual success
The most challenging part about entrepreneurship is the ability to do many things outside their control, affecting the solution to each presented challenge. There are roadblocks and obstacles at every turn, and there will be days or weeks when entrepreneurs wonder what they’ve got. However, only one thing will keep them going during challenging times: faith and belief that they will make it. Sometimes, this belief will seem irrational in the face of a mountain of problems. But the entrepreneurs who lack confidence in success will look for the exit door long before success comes knocking.
Therefore, entrepreneurship is not possible without faith. It’s not likely to have uncontrollable elements and still be confident in our ability to control them without believing in a power outside themselves. It does not necessarily have to be faith in God, but successful entrepreneurs trust in something that keeps them going. Shortly as Martin Luther King, Jr. “Faith is taking the first step even when you don’t see the whole staircase.”

3. High levels of resilience
According to the American Psychological Association (APA) definition, resilience is the process and the outcome of successfully adapting to complex or challenging life experiences. APA also stated that resilience has mental, emotional, and behavioral flexibility and can adjust to internal and external demands. However, it does not mean people don’t experience stress, emotional upheaval, and suffering; demonstrating resilience also includes working through emotional pain and suffering. (Hurley, K. 14 July 2022)
Also, Maxwell John C. (2014) describes how successful people with high levels of resilience can turn negatives into positives and pain into gain because they understand and embrace the value of bad experiences and make reasonable changes after learning from them.
4. Have a good mentor
In How Successful People Grow, Maxwell John C. (2014, 115) stated, “It’s hard to improve when you have no one but yourself to follow.” No matter who you are, what you have accomplished, or how low or high your life has taken you, you can benefit from having a mentor. A mentor will support you, cheer you on, provide feedback and advice, and help you define and reach your goals. It can be a crucial relationship in your life and one that has the potential to impact your choices and career trajectory significantly. If you have never had one, you have no idea how much it can improve your life. However, if you have had mentors, you should start passing it on by becoming a mentor to others. (Maxwell, 2014, 120)
5. Openness to structured experimentation
Experimentation in entrepreneurship is “acquiring knowledge germane to entrepreneurship” by actively experimenting with hands-on projects and learning by doing. In essence, a business experiment enables applying research tools and techniques to test different assumptions (or hypotheses) and subject these to measurement, validation, and analysis so we can come to an evidence-based conclusion.
Along with curiosity, entrepreneurs require an understanding of structured experimentation. With each new opportunity, an entrepreneur must run tests to determine if it’s worthwhile to pursue. For example, if you have an idea for a new product or service that fulfills an under-served demand, you must ensure customers are willing to pay for it. You’ll need to conduct thorough market research and run meaningful tests to validate your idea and determine its potential.
Suggested books to purchase
During my research, I found many sources, including books and the Internet, about how successful entrepreneurs think, their personality traits, and their attitudes toward work and life. I discovered that they all started with different big and small dreams and hunger for success; they are deeply aware of their value and the value they bring to the community.
